About Chrissy-PENDING!

Westie / Scottish Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

No one would blame Chrissy for being just a bit traumatized. This sensitive girl was lost and alone on the busy New Mexico streets. Luck was with her that day when a rescuer came along, saw this beautiful and very friendly girl...and scooped her up into her car and to safety. While her saviour was hopeful, no one stepped up to claim Chrissy as theirs. Farfel's Rescue was immediately contacted and told of the sweetness and need of this kind girl...we were happy to invite her to join our rescue. Chrissy is definitely one of the very lucky ones...her inner (and outer) beauty spoke volumes and our New Mexico rescuer couldn't say no (and we're so glad she couldn't!) Once she has a much-needed bath and grooming, Chrissy will be a stunning Westie/Scottie mix (or such was the opinion of the New Mexico vet). Her coat, while currently suffering from street-wear, with care will take on the stunning coat that's consistent with her breed mix. Chrissy will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is recommended for longevity and coat care). In these photos, you're not aware of the pure-white colors that run through her gorgeous non-shedding or very lightly shedding coat. With a commitment to hair care, Chrissy's coat will be much less likely to shed and will be cottony soft with good health. Chrissy is approximately 2.5 years old (such a perfect age...old enough to have left babyish behaviors behind and young enough to have many, many healthy and active years remaining). Chrissy weighs just about 13 lbs...the perfect size to fit perfectly on any lap (while still enjoying walks and hikes). This would bring Chrissy the greatest joy - to have a warm lap and loving strokes while having enough active outdoor time to be healthy and happy. Chrissy has shown herself to be a healthy girl with no known challenges. She would be overjoyed with a fenced yard for fun, play and sunning. Long walks around the neighborhood to socialize or mountain hikes would definitely fit the bill for our sweet Chrissy. In the end, she will be so happy just to be hanging out close to her favorite person (or people)...she falls deeply in love with those that are kind and loving to her. We envision Chrissy with retired folks who have the time and desire for a best friend. A younger family that works from home or part-time would be great as well.. Right now, a great match would be a family who just wants a devoted (once comfortable and bonded) and loving full-time companion. With true love and respect in her family, Chrissy will return these emotions a million times over. We're hoping that Chrissy is spayed prior to her transport to Boulder. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Chrissy's spay and microchip if one of our Colorado rescue vets is used . Chrissy will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 10/10/18. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet girl. If interested in this beautiful, and very cuddly and loving best friend, please access our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/, fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Chrissy, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue. Farfel's isn't a shelter. We make a commitment to every dog that we rescue that they'll never be in a facility again. Toward this end, every dog that joins Farfel's Rescue either gets adopted prior to their arrival in Colorado by pre approved families (who have submitted applications) or has a foster home waiting for them. While we'd love to see you, please don't come to Farfel's expecting to meet dogs. All Meet & Greets are set up by appointment.
