About CoCo

Adoption Fee: $275
Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

CoCo is about 3 yrs old, about 15#s with tall ears...'all the better to hear you with!!' She is in foster in Olympia, WA. Can't say for sure her breeds but that 's our best guess. She will fall in love very deeply with her humans, just give her some time to adjust she will be your new best friend. To adopt please fill out this simple online applciation just copy and paste http://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchip, and tested Neg for heart worms. And, as a small breed dog, she does have some of the 'weepy' eyes but that dark mark around the eye is not all do to the eyes...It's literally just darker hair. The nice thing about her is that she is not a digger or climber. She stays in a fenced area that a dog her size and as limber as she is, could go over if she wanted to without thinking about it. She stays put...scratches on the door...'Hey! LET ME IN!!!' She, along with several others, were abandoned at a property in Canyon Lake, TX. They were not well fed and not well socialized...scared. CoCo was very scared...but she was curious about my 'pack' of small-breed dogs in the house. She kept peering out of her cage...kind of interested. Eventually, I felt it was time for her to be introduced so I brought her out on a leash and my pack of dogs, one by one, came up and said 'Hi.' This was all new and strange to her but she actually did very well. She drug the leash for several days in order to help me catch her when I wanted to...I can't bend and walk fast at the same time. Then, after about 4 days...I took the leash off. She now runs and plays with the other dogs; sleeps in my bed; and begs for attention when I'm at the computer. Strangers are still 'strange' to her but she gives up quickly with a sweet voice and a treat. She's almost like a different dog. She will bark wildly at strangers, so I wouldn't suggest she be in an apartment with neighbors real close. She's fine with quiet children...yelling and screaming through the house could be unsettling...but, she might get used to it, too. CoCo would do well with another small-breed dog for companionship. She really loves to play...with other dogs and with toys. She will try playing with the cats...who don't appreciate it; and we are working on house training. I don't think she was ever inside a house before. She is soooo happy now compared to when she first came it...a major improvement in life. https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ that is the rescuers fb page, you can like that page and see other dogs we have adopted out in the past
