About Marko

Meet Marko! He is a Pomeranian Chihuahua mix who is 9 years old and weighs about 9 pounds. He came to our rescue when he was surrendered to us by his owner who could no longer care for him. He is a unique little dog with a loving personality who will make a great addition to any home. He loves to snuggle and follow his foster parents around the house. He gets along well with small dogs and older children. He is house broken and will go to the back door and scratch to let you know when he needs to use the bathroom. He is a mellow dog and only barks when somebody comes to the door. He enjoys walks but does not need to be taken out to use the bathroom. Once he is used to his new surroundings and family, he is happy to just be let out into the backyard to do his business then return to the door when finished. Marko would not do well with small children as their unpredictable movements and noise levels would frighten him. Otherwise, it just takes him a day or so to feel comfortable and after that he will follow you around everywhere you go throughout the house and outdoors. Although mature and calm, don't let that fool you. He is still young at heart and enjoys playing with his stuffed animal and retrieving it whenever it is thrown. He loves to play and run around. He has some unique behaviors that will keep you smiling all the time. He can even do a perfect handstand while he is tinkling! Now that is talent! As Marko grows attached to his family he will prefer to sleep in the bed with you. If you ever need to contain him for periods of time, he does very well in a crate with a bed inside it and a blanket covering the outside. You can find him there from time to time when he wants a bit of peace and quiet. Marko truly is a companion dog and always wants to be wherever you are. If you are looking for a cute little buddy to love you unconditionally and be your furry shadow, Marko is definitely the boy for you.
