About Flora

Adoption Fee: $125
Pit Bull / Boxer
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Reason for being in rescue: Flora's mom was found as a stray by a staff member. Mom was pregnant and Flora was born in our rescue. Special Needs: I am a puppy and need training! What kind of home would be best for me? Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: (1) experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets, (2) scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day OR have another canine companion already in the home, (3) stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc). Owner Experience 2: First time dog owner. Had dogs or cats as a child. What is my personality like: Flora is the smallest of the bunch, but big on personality. Despite being the smallest, she can hold her own in a wrestle match with her two sisters. She also enjoys playing with the other dogs in the house. She is a typical puppy in that she likes to explore everything with her mouth! Flora is looking for a home that has the time and energy required for raising a puppy. She needs an adopter that will socialize her to new experiences, new people, and new dogs so that she has the foundation to becoming a good canine citizen. How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly and curious Tips and Tidbits: Flora is all puppy and needs an owner committed to training and continuing to socialize her. House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
