About Fern

Lab
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Reason for being in rescue: returned to breeder, owners did not want. Breeder release to cpr Special Needs: entropian (eyelids turned in) which has been surgically corrected What kind of home would be best for me: Fern is extraordinarily shy. She needs a fenced in yard for security and a canine buddy to be her go between as she learns more how to trust. She and Zeva are good buddies and would be a good pair for a real lab lover who wants to give two dogs a home who really need a home. What is my personality like: Fern is a sweet girl but can be a 'Nervous Nellie' until she gets to know you. She does walk well on a leash and gets along fine with other dogs of all sizes. She will not eat around strangers and will totally shut down until she feels comfortable. This girl needs a quite place in the country with little noise and lots of cuddle time in the couch. She loves to play ball despite her being a fuller figure gal. She was purchased from a breeder and brought back and said they didn't want her anymore because she didn't fit into their lifestyle. She is looking for someone to give her whole heart too. How do I act when I first meet new people: Timid but wants to trust. Tips and Tidbits: Fern has spent her life giving the world precious little lab puppies. She is used to being around other dogs and it would be best for her to go to a home with another canine companion. House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
