A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet. Oreo Oreo, tri pod, neutered, up to date on shots, chipped, (breed unknown), 12 lbs (still needs to put on weight). This is the extremely horrendous life experience of Oreo, he was taken to a kill shelter in CA as he had been hit by a car & his injures to say the least were horrific. The impact was so severe his front leg had to be amputated all the way to the shoulder. We cannot even begin to imagine the suffering this poor sweet little man endured while waiting to be rescued. When we got Oreo out of the shelter along with everything else he had been through he was extremely emaciated & his skin was so terribly dry & flaky, you would touch him & flakes of dry skin would surround the air around you & he really needed badly to put on weight & receive good nutrition & of course tremendous care & multiple trips to the vets for his bandages to be changed twice a day, meds & he also still yet needed to be neutered. He also had such a severe abrasion we can only presume from being dragged on the road by the car where his flesh was exposed & oozing puss. But throughout this & his treatment in his amazing truly loving foster home in CA he still kept up a happy cheery personality, his will to thrive is remarkable. Oreo never gave up & knew he had a new life ahead of him. It was time for Oreo to come back to WA & this little man is looking for a loving family who has another little dog in the home for him to play with, he loves, loves to run & play with other dogs so this is a requirement in his new forever home another little dog friend. Oreo is currently in a loving foster home in WA, his foster mum said he is the most perfect little dog & she adores him & feels so blessed to be his foster mum, he loves to play tug of war, gives endless affection, gets around as if he still has all his limbs, he is very mild mannered yet still brave & resilient. He needs a home where the people are truly affectionate & it's mandatory for him to have a friend to play with. Oreo is a neutered male , what he is mixed with we do not know. He weighs roughly 12 lbs, is up to date on his shots, heart worm negative, chipped, loves all other dogs, great with people, we have not had him around children or cats before. Oreo was just dewormed as he did have worms, his wonderful foster mum is still working on what's left of his dry spot & skin but my oh my has this come a long way. Oreo has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it's always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so this would be up to the new family to be responsible with. We do not know for sure what breed Oreo is & it's always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Oreo's friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training will in fact take them to training. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Oreo & going through the process and have read her listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it's a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Oreo that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Oreo has an adoption fee of $685 & is ready for his forever home. **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption.
