About Kloss

Meet Kloss! He is a black and tan, apple head chihuahua who is 3-5 yrs old and weighs 7 pounds. Kloss came to us from the local shelter where he had been surrendered by his owner. He was a little grumpy when he first met the foster's other dogs but now just ignores them. He has interacted well with other dogs and has played with them, so it just depends on the other dog. He would certainly do OK as an only dog. He has not been tested with cats. Due to his size he would not be good around small children. Kloss does well on leash when out walking and is not what we would call a runner. He's happy to hang around his person when outside so doesn't necessarily have to have a fence but it's always useful to have one as it makes potty time easier. Kloss is doing well with his potty training. He has tried to mark a few times in the house but this is common behavior when new to a house where there are other males. We generally use belly bands to correct this behavior until it stops. Kloss hasn't been tested with puppy pads or a dog door. He doesn't mind being confined in a crate and after a couple of nights will want to sleep next to his human in bed. Kloss is a very affectionate dog. He likes to snuggle in your lap and loves to give kisses any chance he gets! He is very excited when it is feeding time and does a little dance when he's begging for food. He doesn't play with toys but that may just be because he hasn't been exposed to them before and doesn't know what to do with them yet. He is just plain adorable and will steal your heart away if you give him the chance!
