About Abigail S

Meet Abigail, a sweet 8 year old and 7 pound brown and tan chihuahua. She is heartworm negative, microchipped, up to date on her shots and spayed. She has been in our rescue since the middle of September after an owner surrender, no fault of her own. Her foster mom has been working with her to build her confidence and social skills among the four other chihuahuas in the home. She would probably be fine as an only dog since she is a cuddle bug and doesn't mind getting all the attention. However, she wouldn't mind another small canine buddy who knows when to respect her space when she needs quiet time. She recently has started to lie down to nap next to the other chihuahuas at her foster home. She needed time to establish her place among the other chihuahuas but seems content now. Abigail was recently adopted to a family with small children and sadly it didn't work out. A family with older children would be fine. She is starting to play with toys and learning obedience training like sit and stay. She is a smart little girl and does well walking on leash and waiting her turn for treats and dinner dish. She might as well have a cheerleader outfit because she greets her foster mom with lots of enthusiasm as she arrives home from work. She bounces about and talks to her foster mom as she enters the house. If you want a sweet fur baby who will snuggle up with you, she will do that and lean into your face as if she was letting you know how much she loves you. She likes to be escorted outside to potty but will take care of her business right away and not leave you hanging outside waiting. She will use a potty pad if she can't hold it until her foster mom gets home from work. She would be fine to sleep in bed with her person at night or in a crate right by the bed where she feels most secure. She is a sweet little girl who is looking for her furever family and has lots of love to give.
