About Rocky

Hi ezybody! My name is Rocky �'�| you know like the boxing legend, Rocky! But I'm no fighter. I'm a lover. I'm a big guy on the outside but a marshmallow on the inside. I had a good life for many years but then things took a turn for the worse over the last couple of months. My doggie sibling died a few months ago and my human dad decided he could no longer care for me. I did not take this news well. I love that guy so much! I don't know how he could ever leave me. But he did. Even though we've been together my whole life, he moved out of his place and left me behind for the landlord to find. The nice people at Help A Dog Smile are helping me find a new forever family that won't ever leave me behind again. I'm a large, male, 8-year-old dane/Boxer mix with a gorgeous brindle coat and long legs!. Don't let my age fool you. I still have a lot of energy and like to go walking and playing but I also know how to relax and be mellow. I can sit, lay down and use a dog door like the champ that I am. My very favorite thing to do is lay on a couch or bed with a human and put my head on their lap. My foster mom thinks this is funny because I'm so big but it's comfy! I just love being right next to someone and it makes me feel safe. I greet every human I meet with a big smile and I like to give them kisses. I get along great with other dogs. I miss my doggie sibling that passed away. I hang out just fine with my foster friends and would really love a home with another large, mellow dog that could keep me company. I've been having a hard time adjusting to being left behind and sometimes I talk/cry when I feel anxious but I settle down when someone spends time with me. My ideal family would have a human that is home often. I have been neutered, vaccinated for distemper/parvo, vaccinated for rabies, and microchipped. I just need you to make one promise, to keep me forever as part of the family...I am not disposable for any reason like marriage, divorce, babies, moving...ANY reason!
