About Fleur

Adoption Fee: $300
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

This is Fleur, a loving, wiggle-butt, Velcro blue heeler, approximately 2-3 years old! Fleur LOVES people, and her one goal in life is to get as close to you as she possibly can. If you want a lovebug who will be sooooooo ecstatic to see you whether you've been gone a minute or an hour, and will be your constant companion, this is your girl! Food and treats are her other joy in life, she will wiggle out of her skin in happiness! Fleur has no nipping or herding behaviors with humans, she is very gentle. What Fleur needs is her own heeler-savvy person to teach her the ropes on how to act around other dogs. She is lacking in confidence and experience on how to greet and interact with other dogs when left to her own devices, but has responded well to direction on how to behave when her human is supervising her interactions. She was in a kennel with a larger dog at the shelter with no problems, and she does want to have interactions with other dogs, she's just clueless and should definitely be on a leash when being introduced to other dogs, especially little dogs. But she will learn what she needs to know given the proper training and leadership. Fleur will do best initially as only dog in the house, or with an easy-going, socialized dog her size or larger with option of crating her when she can't be supervised with the other dog. Fleur does have a prey drive, she will not do well in a home with cats. She is house-broken, crate-trained, and walks great on a leash, and is really just a lovely little girl. Fleur is being fostered in Huntington Beach, CA.
