About Chester

Chester looks like an American Bulldog/Black Lab Mix that is about 10 months old. Although Chester has a more lab-like face, we believe he has some Bulldog in him because he 'talks' and grunts his excitement in being with you like Bulldogs do. Very Endearing! He also has slightly shorter and stouter legs than you would expect to find on other bully-breeds. This happy, playful young man is a little cautious when meeting new people, perhaps because he was found as a stray that was very thin. However, he is an optimistic boy at heart and he warms up quickly, especially if offered a treat (which he takes very gently). He loves to fetch tennis balls (which he will drop on command), rides nicely in the car, walks well on lead, rests quietly in his crate and night, and is house trained! He loves to play, and likes other dogs, particularly the ladies, but he gets fairly rambunctious, so older dogs might find him annoying. Cats and chickens are also likely to take exception to his exercise program, but he might be discouraged from including them in his play routine as he does not seem to have a high prey drive. In any case, Chester is unconcerned with all of that as he is happy being an only dog if he has humans to throw balls for him and give him belly rubs! Chester should do well with children 10 and older, but younger kids might be bowled over by his exuberant 'zoomies' and spins which he is very free with. Chester is neutered, up-to-date on shots and micro-chipped. His adoption fee is just $80.
