About Peanut

Meet our soft as butter Peanut, a darling little 7 year old Chihuahua mix who came to us when his owner passed away. This 11 pound pup gets along with everyone in the house. He is gentle and friendly with children as well as with other dogs, even those convalescing. He has not been tested with cats but would likely be fine and maybe even friendly with them. Peanut walks patiently on a leash, is respectful of everyone's food dish and comes to say thank you when finished. Peanut is housebroken. He wears a belly band when inside but this is just precautionary when he is in a new environment. He is housebroken and the band is usually dry since he waits until taken outside. Peanut enjoys exploring the yard. He does not chase after birds or squirrels and comes when called. A fence may not be necessary, but a leash is encouraged until he knows his boundaries. He does not show much interest in toys and, though he does fine with other dogs, he would be fine without siblings as he prefers a quiet environment. Mostly he just looks forward to being in the same room as his person. Peanut is a quiet but expressive dog with warm, intelligent, amber-brown eyes. He enjoys being close to his people, lying next to you on the couch having his ears rubbed or under the covers at bedtime. He is affectionate, enjoying a good nuzzle with an occasional lick. His smooth, short coat is white with brown spots, but if you look closer, you will find brown hair threaded throughout, giving him a cream tone. With long legs, pretty, dainty feet, buttery ears, soft fur, good teeth and a smile to show them off, Peanut is a fine little dog. He would make an excellent addition to a household that needs a quiet dog that does not jump or get under your feet, but simply wants to love you and spend time in your company.
