About Harley

Adoption Fee: $100
Whippet mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

He's a gorgeous, totally housebroken 2-year-old mixed breed. Harley's foster mom describes him as sweet, intelligent, energetic and eager to please! Harley currently has two foster brothers that he gets along great with, so he would do well in a house with other dogs. He is a very curious dog, but also a little insecure. He will need a family who is cool with him tagging along and sticking his sweet nose in your business for a while until he gets to know you. It makes him feel special when you include him in simple things, like trips to the laundry room, putting groceries away and letting him watch you vacuum the house! Another thing that makes Harley feel important is learning new tricks, especially if there is food involved! Any type of activity that gets him thinking and working is his favorite, but activities, in general, are his jam! You've probably seen some fast doggies in your life, but Harley is truly a gazelle in a dog body! He is so speedy and athletic, but his long legs make running look effortless. He is so fun to watch! Because he loves to run and play, it would be ideal that his forever home has a fenced in yard or a family that is committed to maintaining an exercise routine for him. Above all, Harley needs a family who can help him gain confidence and get comfortable with new environments through encouragement, positive reinforcement, patience and lots of snuggles and love. He was neglected by his previous owners and was dropped off at a boarding kennel where he watched dogs come and go and listened to constant barking all day for months. Harley has been in foster care with a volunteer family since January 2018.
