Piper is a sweet girl with a good temperament. She gets along great with our kids (5- teenagers). We adopted her from a shelter about a year ago and she was not house trained or crate trained at the time. She is crate trained now, knows some basic commands, and is house trained but she will still purposely urinate in the house sometimes, so we have to keep a lot of rooms gated off. We have a cat that she tolerates and leaves alone. She likes to roam, so will need a home with a larged fenced in yard or electrical fence. We love her dearly, but our home/neighborhood environment is not great for coonhounds. We are in a suburban neighborhood and she likes to chase all of the squirrels, rabbits, etc and howls a lot and our neighbors are increasingly getting upset with us. All of the surrounding backyards have dogs and we have to take turns letting her out because she barks/howls so much with the other neighbor dogs are out. We also have another coonhound, Boomer, that she is bonded with that is also for adoption. She will come with her crate and a bag of food.
