My name is Lois Murphy, unfortunately I recently Lost my home to foreclosure. I have 6 cats that I've had since they were kittens. Several years ago an injured cat appeared on my property. She had a badly broken leg. I believe someone actually threw her out of a moving car. She was obviously very, very hungry, even with a badly broken leg we were unable to catch her, we continued to provide food for her in one of my sheds, that at least gave her a place to shelter when it would snow or rain, although it was cold she could at least stay dry. One day she suddenly just ran into my basement hiding under some furniture. Come to find out she was pregnant. Being winter I don't believe her kittens would have survived for very long since it was barely above freezing during the day and well below freezing at night (night time temp's were in the low teens or single digits) we allowed her to stay in the basement. I did not plan on having 6 cats, one thing led to another and the next thing I knew I had 6 cats. The reason I'm contacting you now is, I'm trying to avoid taking my cats to the shelter here in Atlantic County as I believe that would be a death sentence for them. I know they will end up putting them down after a short time if they are not adopted. I would love to keep them all alive until I can find a place for my family to live. Once that is done I would love to reclaim my beloved cats. If I donate money to cover the cost of food for them will your organization hold them temporarily.(I'm hoping it would be 2 months 3 at the most). My wife and I, along with my grandson love these cats. If there is anyway possible to save these cats I'll do it. I will give an initial donation of $50.00 and a monthly donation of $20.00 even after the cats are back with me. PLEASE consider my request, I apologize for the long e-mail.
