About Shy (west)

Pit Bull mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

SHY - A3906597 Shy is a 7 year old female White and Brindle, spayed American Pit Bull Terrier Shy first came to the shelter on March 29, 2017, and was adopted by a family in April of that year. She was returned 2 months later, because the new owners said that she kept escaping, and they could not deal with that. She was then adopted by another family, and lived with them for a year. She got along great with whole family, including kids and infants. She gets along with larger dogs, but growls at little ones. She is quite timid and submissive. However, she is fearful of climbing stairs, and at 7, is showing some signs of old age. The owners surrendered Shy back to the shelter because they say they can't afford the vet bills. They claim she is incontinent. This has not been observed at the shelter, though a more thorough visit to a family Vet may be wise. Shelter vet has been unable to discover any health issues other than those related to advanced age. Shy is good on the leash, is tolerant of cats, and will stay in a kennel without complaint. Shy may not get another chance. She is due to go on the euthanasia list unless someone steps up. She would make a wonderful companion, and deserves another chance - don't you think?
