About Rico

Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Rico 3 Years Old 50 lbs House and crate trained Older kids Brindle, natural ears, docked tail Prefers to be the only pet Fostered in Battle Ground, WA Rico is a sweet and loyal boy. He is tolerant of all kinds of attention and handling. He takes a while to warm up to new people, and his natural reaction is barking due to fear. Once he has met you though, he falls in love! This dog is a very chill dude who is happy to hang around the house and yard. He loves to play with his toys but hasn't yet mastered the art of fetch. He also enjoys car rides. If the car is parked and he is inside, Rico will bark if someone approaches the vehicle. He does the same thing in the kennel if you get too close. He takes his job as protecting his territory seriously. He can be left loose in the house when you are not at home and is non-destructive. He crates well, and is house trained. He is fine with baths, but nail trims cause him to be fearful. As for other furry creatures, Rico could live with a dog savvy cat as long as the intros are very slow. When new people come to your home, he will need to be crated and given the chance to warm up slowly. Rico is searching for a quiet, stable, and calm home with a leader that is willing to take him to positive reinforcement training classes. Because he is fearful of new things, Rico will need his person to be patient while allowing him to experience new things and show him that you have his back no matter what and that he is safe and loved.
