*****BEEN AT SHELTER FOR A YEAR********** **GOOD DOG, MELLOW CHILL AND FRIENDLY LOVER*** ******overlooked and forgotten*************** I had the pleasure of taking Sarah #A3992636 out for a few hours today. Aside from being a Quiet, Dark brown (looks black except in the sun) small Pittie girl, I can't for the life of me understand why she hasn't been adopted yet. (Original intake Sept 2017, went into short term foster but back at the shelter since July) Sarah was happy to come out-didn't want the leash, but tolerated me putting it on her very easily. She walks quickly to the end of the leash, stops, and does it again. She does not pull on the leash (and for a shelter dog, that's amazing). She is very interested in everything she sees-but just wants to sniff it and move on. I did have to lift her into the car as she did not want to jump in, but she was great the entire ride (although legs were a little shaky from nerves). At home, I picked up the end of the leash and encouraged her out of the car and she climbed out just fine. We didn't quite make it to the backyard before she had to go potty (she didn't go before we left while we were walking around). So, she may need some reminders about the yard. Being that she isn't a big fan of water and it's sprinkling on and off outside (not a fan of rain, won't go in it, but not afraid either), today was a good day for her to remember being in the house. I did open the door every time she stood next to it. She didn't always want to go out, but a reminder to go to the door and it opens is an easy segway to remembering potty training. She kept looking like she wanted to jump up next to me on the couch, but she wouldn't do it and didn't want to be picked up. So she nose to my knee booped me for some ear scratches. After I turned on the tv, she jumped up next to me. No reaction to my dogs sounds from the other room (howling and whining to come out) No reaction to the lizards as nose level in the living room Did not climb on anything-jumped up a little to look out a window when I opened the blinds, but did not jump on the wall. Sniffed at decorations-did not react (grab/chew/knock over) any along the fireplace. Not a snuggly girl, rarely solicits attention and is happy with an ear scratch-would recommend adopters not put their arm around her as it may startle her. No whining, no barking, no sounds made-only thing I heard was her toenails as she walked around. Does follow you around the house Once she's settled in and you leave where she can't see or hear you, she gets excited for your return. PLEASE CALL 520-800-4633 ASAP TO SAVE HER.
