About Freya

Adoption Fee: $225
Pit Bull mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Look at those beautiful, soulful eyes! Freya is a 6-7 year old female Pit mix that is as gentle and sweet as can be. She was evidently an outside girl who had several litters of puppies before coming to us at Paws for Life NC. She is now spayed, fully vaccinated, heart worm free, potty and crate-trained and has gotten used to being treated like a baby herself! She's adapted to house-living with relish and is now ready to find her wonderful forever home. This is a special dog in so many ways. She is fun - plays with toys and her ball, loves leisuring out on the deck in the sun, and loves playing with her other dog playmates, large and small. At adoption events, she loves, loves, loves children and anyone who meets her. At night as she's winding down for bed, she loves laying on the couch with her humans and other dog buddies and getting back and tummy rubs. She great in a car and very calmly sits in the backseat, looking out the windows. She does have a high prey drive and chases birds, squirrels, and chickens so we have not cat-tested her. She walks great on a leash but does pull when a squirrel or bird runs by her. (We are working on that!) Her foster mom reports that she will sleep quietly in her crate at night or on the bed with the rest of her pack, whatever is needed. In addition, when her foster mom leaves the house, Freya is allowed to have full run of the house - she never chews or messes up anything. She's a great, all around dog! Recently, her foster mom had to go out of town and another PfL foster mom took Freya for the weekend. This is what that foster mom said about her, 'Freya is so sweet and easy to tend to. My boy [dog] that guards resources and is a bit suspicious of others, let Freya clean his ears, walk up to him while he had a toy and shared mommy time with her. She is a special pup. She even got my old guy [another dog] to share his special sun bathing spot. She is not a push over, she is just assertive enough to make what she wants known and accepted by the boys. We Loved our weekend with Freya.' In addition, a friend of Freya's foster mom that is studying to be an animal behaviorist spent some time with Freya and thinks she would make an amazing therapy dog - her calmness, friendliness, and personality are just perfect for that type of work. If you are looking for a fantastic dog and would be willing to give Freya a wonderful home, she may be the dog you are looking for. To learn more, just reach out to Paws for Life NC and ask to talk to Freya's foster mom and maybe meet Freya.
