About Storm

Introducing Storm! He is a 1 year old Pekingese Terrier mix who weighs 18 pounds. If any of you grew up with the movie Neverending Story, you'll see that he looks just like Valcor who was the flying dog in that movie! Storm got his name because he was found as a stray, hiding, terrified in somebody's garden during a bad storm and was never claimed. Despite his rough start, he has turned out to have the cutest personality! Storm loves to cuddle and is always close by his person. He is super smart and learned how to use the dog door very quickly. Once he realized that he wasn't going to be left outside and could come and go as he wanted to he is now exploring and curious like most young dogs. He's started playing with the other dogs and toys. The cutest thing he does when his foster mom picks him up to snuggle with her is how he buries his head down on her chest with his butt up in the air and twists around til he is laying on her on his side. He loves belly rubs and if his foster mom stops to look down at him he immediately flips on his back, wiggling around waiting for his belly to be rubbed. He loves chomping on empty water bottles. He really likes the crackling sound they make and will chew them until they are flat! Storm is working on his house breaking skills and with a reliable routine he will continue to make good progress. He loves to go walking and is good on leash. Since he was a stray and is used to having his freedom we recommend he be kept on a leash until he settles. A fenced in yard is preferable but even then he should not be left outside unattended to begin with. Sweet Storm was skin and bones when we found him and because he had spent a while wondering where his next meal was coming from he was very obsessed with food to start with. He did gain some weight fairly quickly but has since calmed down when all the dogs are fed as he now realizes he is always going to get fed as well. Storm has the cutest under bite that looks like a little smile. He is an absolutely adorable and amazing little love bug who will make a great addition to any family.
