About Rudy

Fenced in yard preferred. Rudy, a 1 yr old, is a fast learner and wants to please. He likes children who are old enough to know to treat a dog gently, and he gets along very well with other dogs when properly introduced. He likes playing with other dogs who also like to play. He does not like cats. He has been left alone in the house up to 4 hours and showed no bad behavior when allowed to roam around the house unsupervised during that time. Rudy had been crated in his past and initially sought the security of his crate when first introduced to his foster home, but now he prefers to sleep in a chair when there's nothing going on. He will go into his crate if that is required during absences, and he will sleep quietly there waiting for you. Rudy very much enjoys sleeping in the chair alone or next to his foster mom; but when it's time to go to bed for the night, he prefers to sleep in his bed on the floor next to her. He has been mistreated in his past, but he is rapidly developing trust and confidence and will likely fully overcome any remaining small fears given a safe and caring home where he is treated lovingly. Rudy is a fast walker who enjoys long walks in the morning and evening and would be a great companion for someone who power walks, jogs, or runs. Car rides are especially fun for Rudy, and he eagerly jumps into the car and enjoys looking out the window from his car seat. He is a good eater with a healthy appetite. Rudy has recently begun to show that he is a 'talker', and he often speaks to people who stop to pay attention to him on his walks. Rudy appears to be house trained when given an early morning and evening walk and let outside once or twice during the day and before bedtime; however, he does not let you know when he needs to go outside.Given his young age, Rudy is a surprisingly well-behaved boy.
