About Batman

Hello, my name is Batman! I'm 5 months old and maturing into a sweet guy. I weighed in at 7.9 lbs. at my vet appointment on September 6th. I still have some growing to do since I'm a puppy. We don't know for sure, but I could be 15-18 lbs. when I'm fully grown and then again, maybe not? I came into Puppy Pals Rescue when some Facebook supporters of PPR kept tagging my foster mom that I was at a shelter in a different county. Luckily, she came and got me after a long holiday weekend. She fell in love with my white markings which looks like I'm wearing a cape and my ears making me look like a bat? The shelter even named me Batman. Since being at PPR, I've received my first round of puppy shots and I am scheduled for another round on Sept. 24th when I go to be neutered. I recently had an emergency that we had to postpone by neuter - I pulled a muscle playing too hard and was put on meds (which I'm still on), but I'm all healed. PPR had x-rays done to make sure that I didn't have any serious issues. I didn't - I'm good! I shouldn't have tried to run and play so hard with the bigger dogs here. I did get some extra lap time and hugs which were nice. I am currently working on my crate/leash/house-training. I'm still learning commands like 'come.' My crate training is coming along. We are still working on the house-training. I am currently wearing a belly-band and I have my good days and bad. Who wants to go outside when it's raining? My foster mom said 'too bad' - that I have to learn the ropes so I can find my forever family. I will go outside to potty - I just haven't picked up on the signs of telling my foster home that I have to go outside yet. My foster mom feels that once I'm neutered that it will help with my control issues. I don't mind wearing a belly-band though, but you have to chase me to put it on. Who wants to wear such an embarrassing outfit? I have gone to a Petco adoption event and made an excellent appearance. I loved all the attention of those little humans who enjoyed giving me pets on the head and talking to me. My ideal home would be with children- maybe not toddlers, but ones who enjoy tossing my favorite ball or toy and teaching me to run after it and bring it back. I believe I'd love to have a playmate about my own size. I love to run around the fenced-in back yard chasing after my doggie friends here in my foster home. I have lots of energy and it's a good way to burn some of it off. I enjoy rides in the car and am planning on going tomorrow to visit some old people at the nursing home. (My foster mom takes turns with us foster pups to get some one-on-one time and for us to get out socially to see how we do with people of all ages.) I bet I'll just love all the attention!
