About Ophelia (Fifi)

***COURTESY LISTING*** They say every rescue dog has a story - well Ophelia sure does! Abandoned to die inside a Georgia mobile home, Ophelia broke out a window to free herself and her brother Poseidon. Neighbors saw their escape and contacted the local shelter, where they were taken in, covered in lacerations, flea-infested, wormy and mangy. Sadly, they escaped one horrific fate only to end up on death row due to their poor physical condition and shelter overcrowding. But a rescuer stepped up and now they're ready for a foster or adopter. Ophelia (Fifi for short) is a smart, active, comical, loving bully-boxer mix that somehow trusts humans despite her rough past. We believe her to be about 2 years old. She takes correction easily, rides well in the car and is learning leash manners quickly. She likes to chase a ball and explore the yard and enjoys the company of other dogs. She also loves to cuddle next to you on the couch and will lay her head in your lap. Fifi is very alert and curious about the world around her. She only barks for good reason, is house-trained (uses a doggy door), crate-trained, spayed, micro-chipped, up-to-date on shots, weighs 48 lbs. and has golden eyes that peer lovingly into your soul. She would be a great match for a fun, active, kind family or person looking for a smart, loving companion who is also up for car rides, walks and even jogging. She would do best with another sweet, playful packmate (like her brother) and will make a wonderful companion as she continues to mature and learn. She loves all people including kids and although untested with cats we believe she would do fine if properly introduced. Ophelia is a resilient, loyal, amazing soul who has so much love to give! She's currently fostered in the Jacksonville, FL area (Fernandina Beach) but transport can be arranged. Her adoption fee is $75.
