About Sonny

Sonny was found as a stray in a community close to Nashville emaciated and with a skin infection. A neighbor of his owners came forward with information about Sonny and said that he wouldn't be missed. He is healed, back to a good weight, fully vetted, had his teeth cleaned and is ready to start his search for a very special family. Sonny grew up alone in an outside pen and is an adult with the brain of a puppy. Rules are hard to understand and he's learning new things about the 'inside' world every day. He is going to need someone patient and experienced with training (hounds). He is a very friendly guy, he gets along with every dog he's met, loves kitties and is very excited to meet new people. Sometimes Sonny gets over-excited so I suggest he only live with older kids until he matures more. He would love doggy siblings and a fenced yard! His bay is certainly not suited for apartment or townhome living. He is crate trained, house trained and is working hard on staying off counters, not chewing on bedding and 'sit'. He really loves to sleep in bed, go run with friends at the dog park and thinks toys are the coolest!
