About Little Louie

Say hello there to Little Louie. He is a papillon Chihuahua mix who is 8 years old and weighs about 6 pounds. Little Louie was surrendered to us by his owner who could no longer care for him due to a serious illness in the family. Louie also has arthritis which can be painful for him and limits his ability to maneuver around certain situations. He is the sweetest boy and loves everybody he meets. Every single animal in the foster's house has welcomed him with no issues or smacks from the cats. They seem to instinctively know how special he is. He loves to hang with everyone and especially to be scratched all over. Louie doesn't sleep on the bed at night but he does like to be close by where he can be reassured if need be.The foster initially had him wear a belly band in the house in case he tried to mark but he has been pottying outside on a schedule and has had no accidents to date. He follows you out to the yard to do his business and then follows you right back in. He can't used the dog door at the foster's house because there is a step and his arthritis limits his ability to negotiate that. He needs to be on one level as he cannot use stairs. Louie is just a lover and will either sit with you or by you, wherever you are. He would not do well in a house with small, active children who don't understand his mobility limitations as he could get hurt. He has a cute little bark that sounds more like a raspy goose honking than a dog! If he gets turned around in the house and isn't sure where he is he will bark to alert you to come and find him or will follow the sound of your voice to find his way out. Louie is just a joy to have around. He is a great companion and will make someone very happy!! How can you say no?
