About Estrella

Adoption Fee: $175
Bluetick Coonhound
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Hi there, my name is Estrella (that's Spanish for 'star') and I am looking for the light of my life, the hound song of my heart, my very own forever family here in Augusta County. A nice, warm dog bed to call my own and a family who will talk gently to me and give me soft rubs are all I've been dreaming of ever since I was removed from a crowded, dirty home full of too many animals. Things got pretty dim and hopeless for me for a while, but I'm feeling much brighter and looking for a family who can light the way for me (and vice versa, of course). Things have been pretty hard for me for the past several years, so I'm a little insecure. If you raise your hand to me or pick up a mop to clean the floor, I might flinch a little because of what I've been through. But never fear! Despite the way I've been treated, I am gentle, kind, patient, calm, sweet, and very well-trained. That's right, I'm house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. My foster mom says I'm one of the most well-behaved pups she's ever had around! I am great with other dogs and cats alike and wouldn't mind living with a reasonable number of them. I am likely fine with kids as long as they know how to treat me with respect (no yelling, screaming, tail-grabbing, etc..). I would fit best in a quieter house since loud noises tend to make me nervous and afraid. Please come meet me at the Waynesboro Petsmart on Saturdays between 10 AM and 2 PM. I'm reaching for the stars hoping to fly into your arms, dear reader. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. For more information and to apply to adopt, please visit www.augustadogadoptions.org If you google our address, you will be directed to Richmond. That is NOT our adoption event location. If you have questions, please message us on Facebook.
