About Trapper

This is Trapper. His mom was saved when she was nursing him and his siblings from a southern TX high kill shelter and thank dog we got her out when we did. When she came in, you could count Delta's ribs and see her hip bones. She was 51#s (typically a good size dog) but yet she needed to add at least 25#s. Her one puppy, Trapper, was within a couple days of death. He had no appetite and was lethargic. He had very special treatment and specially prepared human foods for him as he needed it. He received chicken broth, cooked chicken, super vitamins, deworming, and more special food. He howled the first night he was all alone...it only took 1 night and he was fine after that. It took him about 2 weeks to develop a sturdy appetite and once our daytime temps went down, he got to go out with mama and siblings. The other two puppies were in much better shape than Trapper. They were bigger and probably pushed the little one away from the food. Thank God we got them in time. they are both females, Kisha (she looks like a Chocolate Lab mix) and Mazye...(who has coloring like Delta).
