About LUCY

Adoption Fee: $125
Pit Bull / Lab
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Really feeling like I've failed this girl. We pulled her from the shelter just days from her euthanasia date...only for her to still be without a forever family...SEVEN months later. This is by far the absolute longest any dog has remained without an adopter within our rescue. There have been some bumps in the road of course. When we first pulled her, she was sick with a respiratory infection...so her spay and adoption availability had to be delayed. Then, she landed an amazing foster family where she stayed for several weeks and lived happily with another dog and kids. Then...an adopter came along. We thought it was a perfect fit...a young adult who wanted an active dog, and was willing to invest some time in basic training. But unfortunately, after a couple of months...the rest of the family who lived with the adopter decided she was too jumpy and mouthy and they became fearful of her. And since they were not very fond of Lucy from the start (not a fan on pit bull mixes), Lucy had to go...despite the Adopter's love for her. This is not the Adopter's fault...it was their first family dog, and since the whole family had to be in agreement about adopting Lucy...it just wasn't meant to be. Lucy needs stability and unconditional love and attention. A family that is in it forever with her. She's got the brains and the will...now all she needs is that special family to give her time and energy. Please let's share this girl far and wide! She is our first priority...the one who needs a family most!!! Lucy is about a year old, looks like a white shepherd/lab/pit mix. She weighs about 45 lbs. She has lots of puppy energy and needs an owner who can give her the activity level she needs, or the mental stability she craves. Lucy is great in the crate! She has been wonderful with dogs in her foster homes (big and small!) but is sometimes not a fan of new dogs outside the home. Email [email protected] for an application or call 917-399-4557.
