About Annie (with Jackson)

Adoption Fee: $200
Golden Retriever / Poodle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Reason for being in rescue: Owner release, owner's spouse has health problems and can no longer afford physically or financially to care for his beloved pets Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Annie needs a companion animal. Right now that is Jackson Weight: 63.4 lb Height: in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 with Jackson Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? The best home for Jackson and Annie will be one with another gregarious, happy large dog or someone who understands that when Jackson passes, Annie will most likely need another buddy. Jackson is a senior and Annie is not but Annie has never been without Jackson and looks to him for guidance. She warms up to people as long as Jackson tells her it's okay. I've seen Annie warm up to dog savvy people quickly, but we are pretty certain that Annie will need another buddy to play with. The two are house dogs, accustomed to being part of every day life and right in the middle of their loving family and that is what they want again. What is my personality like? Annie is a very nervous dog until She gets to know you. She is very bonded to her brother and loves to cuddle on the couch with you if you will give her the opportunity. She walks well on a leash, rides well on a car, and she is good with cats. She is a super needy little girl that is willing to give her whole heart to someone. How do I act when I first meet new people? A bit shy at first but with positive cues from Jackson, she warms up in no time. Other tips and tidbits: Annie is a golden doodle but her coat is more that of a flat coat retriever without as much shedding. But she is not hypoallergenic. She is a light shedder. I picked Jackson and Annie up from their owner and I know first hand how very much the two were loved. There were a lot of tears and a lot of thank you's for this very kind man truly had no idea what he was going to do and was facing major surgery the week we were able to pick up the dogs. Mostly we rescue dogs - but sometimes we rescue people. He's a wonderful dog owner in a bad spot and I am glad we were there. I can't wait to give him a call and let him know his precious dogs are in a new home and much loved. Please help me make that call a reality. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
