About Phela

Phela is an amazing family dog. She is one and a half years old and probably has some wolf. She is sweet and well mannered and we love her dearly. She is great with my kids, including my toddler, and loves to play and cuddle. She does great at the dog park, her favorite place to run. She loves car rides and is good on a leash with a no pull harness. She is used to going with me and my kids everywhere. Unfortunately, she has a very strong prey drive and has killed a chicken and now a fawn on our property. After killing the fawn she started hunting our young cat. Also, she doesn't always come when called and because of her prey drive cannot be off leash. However, she is great about coming to me at the dog park because I bring treats. We live on a large property with many rescued animals and the stress of her possibly killing one of our other animals has gotten too great. I'm also afraid she will get off our property and kill a neighbors livestock which could result in her getting shot. We are heartbroken that we have to find a new home for this dearly loved member of our family. We will wait to find the perfect home for her which would have the following: someone who understands the husky breed and has the time and energy she needs, another dog companion as she does not do well alone, a large well-fenced yard with shelter from the rain (she can't be left inside for long because she gets destructive and she can escape every kennel we have tried even with reinforcements), no cats or other non-dog animals now or in the future, someone who will take her to the dog park multiple times a week, a family or individual who will love her dearly and give her an amazing home. We feed her nw naturals raw food and it would be cool if that continued, but not a requirement. Whoever takes her will be extremely lucky to have this incredible loving sweetheart. We will donate the adoption fee to the green hill humane society, our local no-kill shelter.
