About Alli

Alli could be that dream come true pup for retirees who love spending their time with a cottony-soft and very sweet companion. There's no question that Alli would also do well with very gentle dog-crazy kids who enjoy the fun and positive energy that a sweet little dog brings to a family. We'd prefer older children to be certain that Alli is handled gently and respectfully. It's clear that Alli had been very disrespected in her earlier life. It's difficult to know what kind of challenges she's encountered (and overcome) and what stroke of luck brought her to the home of a loving and compassionate New Mexico foster. It would only have been a nurturing, dog-crazy angel that would have opened their home and heart to this tiny girl whose only defense was to bite and retreat. With patience, Alli quickly made amazing progress and has lived in harmony for two years with her foster mom and her many dogs, cats and birds. Sadly, circumstances are such that Alli must be rehomed. She will blossom with a family that's as loving and kind as her New Mexico foster. She's made amazing progress in the two years that she's spent in this home and while we're certain she'll suffer a minor setback, we're confident that this resilient and brave girl will flourish. Farfel's is committed to placing Alli with a family that derives great joy from showering a beautiful 3 year old, 12 lb sweetie-pie with nothing but love and kindness. Once comfortable (it may take just a bit of time) Alli, with her engaging energy, will enjoy playing and socializing...and her bravery and confidence will blossom. Alli is currently a blank slate just waiting to learn about the world through positive leadership, kind boundaries and fun time spent for bonding through play, walks in the sunshine and tons of lap time and love. Alli is a sensitive girl who falls in love with her family. For this reason, we aren't open to a home where everyone spends their days working full-time outside of the home....we'd like Alli to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle. Retirees who would love a best friend (and greatest lap dog ever) are perfect for Alli. A younger family who works from home or part time would also speak to the needs of this very sweet dog. Alli enjoys the companionship of other dogs and cats. It's so much fun to play and engage...and then plop down together to snooze in the sun. She would be overjoyed with this fun..but would also do well being the one and only if there was consistent playtime, walks and cuddling.
