About David Bowie

Adoption Fee: $100
German Shorthaired Pointer mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

I found David Bowie almost 2 weeks ago starving on the side of the road. No microchip and no responses to any 'lost dog' posting online. Since taking him in I've gotten him a rabies vaccine, parvo/distemper vaccine, any a heartworm and fecal test (both came back negative). I also gave him a flea collar (seresto 8 month) that won't need replaced until June 2019. The $100 adoption fee is to make sure he ends up in a good home and to help recoup some of the vet bills. He is a very good puppy. Only a year old at most. He is great with kids (mine are 2 & 4) and he's also great with cats (I have 3). He does well with my current dog, but my dog is very jealous and won't leave Bowie alone. David Bowie just wants to be by my side and get lots of head pets. Besides being skinny still from starving, Bowie will require some special treatment. His hind legs tend to bow out from underneath him if he's on a smooth surface. Outside or on a rig he does much better, but hardwood (which is 90% if my house) he will slide down onto the floor because his legs give out. I had the vet check this and he said that Bowie's joints are fine and his hips are in place, but it could be a birth defect or a past trauma that has healed over but caused his legs to bow. Once he is up to weight and regains muscle it might not be as bad, but that's only a speculation. I cannot keep this sweetheart due to many factors, but mainly it comes down to not having the time to train and love this baby. If you have carpeted floors and time for him, please give me a call. He is a lovable boy who deserves a family. He would not do well in a shelter and I don't want to resort to that if I can avoid it. I am willing to travel a few hours drive if it means a place to call home for David Bowie.
