About Odie

FOSTER LOCATION: Caldwell, ID Adoption Fee: $50 Breed: Chihuahua Age: 10 years Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped Poor old man Odie found himself at a local shelter stressed out to the max; the shelter staff knew he needed out so they contacted us and we were happy to be able to place him in a Fuzzy Pawz foster home. Odie is a sweet and cuddly boy looking for a warm lap and someone who likes to go for walks. He LOVES to cuddle with his people and is a true lap dog - he even goes places with his foster mom riding in a baby sling. Odie will use his paws to pull your hand back for just one more belly rub. He can be an attention hog. Odie may be 10 years old, but acts like he is 5. He likes to play fetch with his stuffed animal and he likes to play chase with the other dog in the house. He loves to go for a ride in the car.; making him a great travel buddy he'll sit up and watch the world go by but then will lie down on his blanket and take a nap. As is often the case with the breed Odie is quite the talker and tell him all about your day and he will happily tell you about his; he's a great listener. And if other dogs in the house are barking he will join in to help sign the song of his people. He also believes he is part watch dog and will make sure you know when someone comes to the house. Odie would do best in a home with kids 10 and older who are respectful of a dog. He is good with other dogs his own size but does not tolerate big dogs well. The question of cats is up in the air - we have seen him chase a few but with time and the right cat to put him in his place he might be fine. Odie would love an active family that would make him part of their day and take him on family trips, like camping. He loves to chase the squirrels and birds in the yard so off leash is a bad idea. Odie is dog door trained and house trained. He walks nicely on leash and takes treats gently.. He really likes his crate and often will put himself to bed at night.
