About Pika

Pika is a 2 year old, 30 lb. cattle dog looking for a home that is knowledgeable about the breed. She has a typical cattle dog temperament. Pika is house trained, crate trained, loves a car ride, knows basic obedience and more, has great house manners, and wants nothing more than to please her person. She is very sweet and affectionate with her person. She is choosey about her dog buddies but adores my little 18 lb dog. She can be snarky and resource guard her person with dogs she does not yet trust. During her short stay with me the management of this behavior has improved. Pika is medium energy and would thrive with an active home. She has not been around livestock and should not be in a home with cats, chickens or small animals. Pika has not had a lot of exposure to being out in public. This makes her anxious when out. While she walks great on a leash in a calm environment she is leash reactive with other dogs and will try and chase cars that move close by her too quickly. She is enrolled in a leash reactivity class to help work her through this. A suburban home where her primary exercise would be neighborhood leash walks would not be ideal for this girl. She would love some property to run on. Pika has done well meeting strangers coming to my house. She is nervous around children and would prefer to not share her home with children.
