About Josie

Little Josie is a gorgeous long hair 12 year old, 10 pound senior girl. Josie has only partial vision but she has learned her way around her foster home and adapts quickly. Josie is a love bug. She loves to have special cuddles in her foster home in Alabama. Josie is house trained but due to her visual impairment she does need to be helped when she goes outside as she finds the big yard a bit overwhelming. Her forever family will need to help her learn her way around so that she can become confident in her environment. Josie is a very smart girl and has learned commands in her foster home quickly. she knows the words breakfast and dinner like any dachshund should! Josie does not try to jump on the furniture or use the stairs but instead is a very well mannered girl and waits to be lifted up and down. She will let you know what she wants. Josie sleeps in a dog bed in her foster home in the master bedroom. Although she would like to be in the big bed, her foster parents are concerned about her falling off the bed with her vision issues and so she sleeps in her own bed on the floor but still near them. Josie is a very quiet girl and does not bark. She can be playful and will prance and dance on occasion. She would do well in a home where she could have lots of love and attention and would do well in a home with other dogs who were not too rambunctious. Josie gets along well with children but would do best in a home with children over 6 years of age. Josie would do well with kitties too. This lovely senior girl is looking for some longdoglove!
