About Meg (east)

MEG - A4115776 This is MEG. She is a female, black and tan German Shepherd Dog. The shelter staff thinks she is about 1 year old, and has been been at the shelter since Sep 03, 2018. This week it is raining shepherds at MCACC East. MOST of these are adoptable dogs who will probably find homes quickly. Unfortunately, project dog MEG #A4115776 is struggling more than almost all of the other dogs in our shelter. MEG came to us as a stray. She is quite unsocialized, fearful, and not leash-trained. Meg appears to be a young dog, but has several obstacles to overcome in finding a suitable home We can try and make accommodations for some of our fearful non-walkers... she has the cart rides mastered. However, she still needs to master leashwalking, interacting with humans, not trying to run away from humans, enjoying or becoming more comfortable with human touch, etc. Meg coexisted in play yard with another dog, but was so fearful and wary of the humans she acted at if the other dog did not exist. If the shelters were not full, this would not be as much of an issue, but Meg is currently at-risk to be euthanized because resources are stretched thin with both shelters at capacity. Meg is a project who would be best helped by a rescue/foster experienced with fearful, undersocialized dogs.
