About Ditch

Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Ditch (DOB approx. 8/2016) has a rather interesting arrival story - let us explain: Another save for GGOH. This poor guy was living on the streets hanging out in a culvert near a construction site; he had been spotted by a family who took nightly walks. Knowing Ditch was there, every night this family would bring him food and water but could not take him in - this went on for a couple of weeks during which they did their best to find his owners but sadly, they were unsuccessful. As the days went on, they began to worry about Ditch's living quarters as they watched progress being made at this site and knew that it wouldn't be long before he was either forced out, or became injured (or worse) with all the big equipment that was working in the area so they reached out for help via a community FB page. One of our volunteers was in the area he had been sighted in while picking up another cat we were helping and had remembered seeing that plea for help so of course, she had to see what she could do. Well, it was Ditch's lucky day - GGOH for the save! The photo posted here is from his FREEDOM RIDE - with no extra carrier in her car, our volunteer took a leap of faith and quickly got him into her car and off they went. As you can see, there was nothing to worry about as Ditch was a perfect car rider! Our volunteer said that during the nearly hour and a half ride back to our facility, in heavy rush-hour traffic, Ditch laid patiently in her lap, occasionally sitting up to give a peek out the window or to give her kisses and snuggles into her neck. While certainly not an ideal driving situation, it did give our volunteer a great first-impression of this love bug. Since being here at the facility with us Ditch continues to be quite the charmer around staff and visitors but, we've found that he's not so fond of other cats although he does tolerate them - in other words, he would do okay in a home with other cats if they are the type that wouldn't always be in his face. We would love nothing more than to find this guy a home ASAP so that he can get back to doing what he apparently loves to do - be with humans. We've not had the opportunity to introduce Ditch to dogs. Kids of any age would be fine but we can just about guarantee that he'd be a great BFF for a middle-school aged child - they'd gain a friend for life with this guy! Think you might have the perfect home for Ditch - stop in for a meet and greet and see what you think. Get ready for lots of hugs and kisses!
