About Cortez

Cortez is a 4 year old male chihuahua dachshund mix looking for a loving forever home with a canine companion or two. Cortez is one of 23 dogs who were recently rescue after being abandoned in a home. Arizona Small Dog Rescue has 11 of these dogs, one of whom is pregnant, and the other 12 were rescued by Lost Our Home rescue. All 11 dogs who came to AZSDR have been named after fallen officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Cortez is only about 4 years old, but came to us badly in need of a dental with a few infected teeth. He has seen our doctor and after 18 teeth were extracted, the rest were cleaned and polished and he has a brand new smile for his new family. Cortez is a sweet and outgoing boy, but he has never been alone without another dog. Cortez definitely needs a home with another dog, or will need to be adopted with a friend, so he has canine companionship. Cortez may need patience and a little training as he adjusts to life in a more structured setting. Cortez is a tiny guy with a big heart, weighing only 7 pounds full grown. His adoption fee is $260. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and vet checked. His adoption includes 30 days of free pet insurance and a free vet visit to a choice of many vet offices.
