About Tessie, Adopted

Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

'Hi! My name is Tessie and boy was I glad to get out of that crowded little shelter! The last day I was there, they brought in two dogs that weighed over 200 pounds each and scared me to death. They were a special breed of dogs called pot-bellied pigs! The people who saved me say I'm a beautiful two-year-old flashy brindle girl-sweet and usually quite well behaved. (Of course, I am; I don't want to go back to the shelter with the humongous dogs!) They love my ears because one flops over like it is supposed to and the other one reminds them of a flying nun ear, whatever that is. I'm very good at 'sit' and 'shake'; I will even wave both paws at once! I go potty outside and I learned to use the doggie door really fast. I can go up and down stairs and I know what it means to 'kennel up'. I like to be with the people here wherever they are-inside or out. If they have company, I'm the perfect hostess; I don't bark or jump on them. I can walk on a leash pretty well but I haven't practiced much here because it is so hot! The woman who took me to the shelter didn't tell them much about me and she had no doctor records for me. She said I've been fixed so I don't have to have any more puppies though; whew! She also said I probably shouldn't live around cats. I remember living two other places before her house so for a young girl I've really been around. I'll be going to the doctor soon to get shots (ugh!) and to see if I have wormy things in my heart (double ugh!). I've got another issue or two to show the doctor, including being a little 'fluffy' and needing something like Jenny Craig, whatever that is. Because I'm a big girl and love to run and jump, I probably don't need to be in a house with kids under ten. Sometimes I get growly and mad when the other dogs here don't want to play and I do. There's a little girl here I sometimes play with really well and other times we both get kind of mad. We are still deciding if I need to be a princess and not have a brother but I get along pretty well with the boy here. It may be that I just don't know how to get the others to play with me. We're working on that here because I like to play, play, play! Whenever I need to be corrected, which is not much, I do what the people say with no backtalk. I'll check back with you in a few days. For now, this is Tessie signing out. Hope to get to meet some of you real soon!
