About Alice-ADOPTION PENDING

Cavalier / Tibetan Spaniel
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Whenever a sweet and engaging Spaniel or Spaniel mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of this breed mix are very loving, super- smart and make loyal and sweet family companions. Alice will fit so well into a household and make an excellent best friend for all age groups as well as gentle canines. Alice is one of these cuddly and very sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Tibetan Spaniel mixes. The New Mexico vets believe Alice to be about 2.5 years old and just about 15 lbs. Alice (once comfortable in her environment) is very puppyish in her enthusiasm for all people that are kind to her. She has a love of life and positive attitude that touches the heart. After all, this very deserving girl has never had a responsible and nurturing family to call her own. She has been a victim of circumstance in her life...Farfel's Rescue is committed to changing this for this dog that has so much to offer a committed family. Rescue dogs can initially be a bit shy or nervous..this is expected in light of the very long transports and stresses of rehoming. When an adopting family is sensitive to the challenges of change and acclimation for these dog's, the transition is far easier. A home with a very loving and nurturing family that provides understanding that blossoming takes time, socialization, pure love and belly rubs is a gift to a dog that is undergoing a life change. Given the time and space, these dogs shine. Alice is one of these pups that is a blank slate just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a best friend, loyal companion and the greatest lap dog ever. Group training classes with a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Alice and her family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have Alice be a companion that is well-behaved in every situation. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area. Alice is such a great age and size... at 2.5 years old, Alice is a perfect age - young enough to be a completely blank slate open to training and new concepts while being old enough to have left her babyish behaviors behind. We envision active, dog-loving retirees for our sweet girl..she would be thrilled with the time spent. Alice would also do great with a younger family that works from home to love this wonderful dog up throughout the day. Alice loves kids (a bit older is great so no tail-pulling occurs) and would thrive with the fun and special kind of love that children provide. We feel that Alice is too sensitive to spend long hours alone while her family works full-time outside of the home. This photo in no way conveys the beauty of this gorgeous girl. It starts at her dark eyes that are both sad due to her life experiences and bright with hope for the future. Alice has the potential for that gorgeous Cavalier coat that we all love to touch for its softness. She will therefore require a commitment to sudsy baths, grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement is a great lifelong supplement for coat care as well as longevity) Alice's coat will be cottony-soft, very healthy and shining. Alice won't be spayed when she arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this industrial area of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Alice's spay and microchip after her arrival on transport if our Denver vet is used. Alice is arriving on transport in Denver in mid-September (we'll update when date is confirmed). Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup. If interested in this adorable ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Alice, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
