About Coturnix quail group

Adoption Fee: $35
Pet Bird
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Say hello to Little Girl, Big Boy, and the Ladies! These four coturnix quail are about 11 weeks old. They were dumped at a veterinary clinic at about 2 weeks old, and though they are domestic, our wildlife rescue group has been fostering them ever since. But we are not set up for long-term care, and these sweethearts would love to find their forever home. Big Boy is the friendliest, and watches over his three lady friends, who each typically lay one egg per day. This group likes to scratch and dust and forage, and would love to be on the ground in grass and dirt! Mealworms are their favorite, and Big Boy and Little Girl will eat them out of your hand. The other two ladies are more shy, but Big Boy is very sweet and regularly lets them eat his mealworm treats! Though domestic, quail tend to be somewhat skittish, but they often become friendlier in larger enclosures, once they feel they can come and go as they please (plus patient love and treats are a great way to get them to know you are their friend)! Big Boy and the Ladies would likely pair well with other female coturnix. Coturnix can be outdoors year round if given shelter, a secure enclosure against predators, and time to acclimate to colder weather. Please reach out if you think you can provide a loving, no-kill home for these sweet birds.
