About Mila

Mila is available for foster or adoption. We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Mila is currently fostered in Lakeland, FL (Polk County). Mila is a lovely 10-month-old heeler pup. She has an excellent temperament, very biddable for the most part, but she does have a stubborn streak in her. She is a bit on the calm side, and after a good romp or play you can find her lying on the back porch in the sun. She has a fairly good recall, knows sit, working on down and leash work. She has a curious nature and is pretty fearless - doesn't give two hoots about thunder, fireworks or rain. She is what I would call a steady girl, with stamina, calm but cautious. Plays hard with other dogs, but regulates herself with smaller ones. She is crate trained and housebroken. Loves tug toys, squeaky toys, and loves to swim! If you are looking for an active partner that is not over-the-top with needs, this would be the girl! Performance prospect, hiking buddy, fishing buddy, jogging, kayaking, the list can go on! Great body structure too, well put together. Has not been tested on stock, but has shown interest in my neighbor's cattle. A working or performance home is strongly preferred, and a fenced yard is a must. Mila is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm-free.
