About Kenya

Hound lovers, Kenya is hound to her core! This girl wants to be on the move and is seeking adopters with an active lifestyle. If you're looking for a jogging partner or a dog to go hiking for miles with you, she could be your girl! She's a Redbone Coonhound, about 6 years old and weighs 55-60 lb. She gets along with every dog we've introduced her to. Since she has such a strong hound drive, a large fenced yard is mandatory (minimum 4 feet high). Hounds are known for taking off after a scent and getting lost, so we want to ensure she's got a secure area. She needs work on leash training so we are recommending working with a certified trainer on that as well as basic obedience training (though she does know sit & paw). Fortunately, she is VERY food motivated so that will make obedience training a breeze! She absolutely adores her foster parents & will charm the pants off the men in her life! She rides great in the car, so a ride out to the mountains for a long hike is right up her alley.
