About Bolt

Bolt is a bit of an overachiever. Even though he's only 20 weeks old, he has already achieved a weight of 27 lbs. and is likely to achieve an adult weigh of at least 40 lbs. Bolt's mom is a smallish Rat Terrier mix, so he must have inherited his size from his mystery father. And while Bolt's ancestry is somewhat hazy, it's clear that his personal history has been healthy, wholesome, and free from any trauma. Because Bolt was born in his foster home, he has known only the love of his foster parents, his mom, and his littermates. He seems to get along with everyone; he's an equal opportunity playmate, who enjoys frolicking with his littermates, the adult dogs in his foster home, his foster family, and any human visitors who happen to stop by. He has a kind heart and is gentle with his canine brothers and sisters, all of whom are smaller than he. With his personality and playfulness, Bolt would make a great dog for just about any family, as long as they can provide him with the proper amount of attention and space. Since he's still working on his house-training, he's going to need someone home most of the time to give him plenty of opportunities to potty outside. He tries to 'hold it' for the outdoors, but there are times he just can't wait and he will look for a training pad--most times successfully but not always. He's not yet a great fan of the leash and cars whizzing past frighten him, so you'll want to have a nice fenced yard, where you can accompany him (yes, he's very attached to his people and will want you with him) and wait patiently till nature calls, whereupon you can reward him and tell him what a good boy he is. Of course, he'll entice you into playing with him while he's there, but he would also be happy to continue the fun inside the house, so he's hoping your living space will accommodate indoor doggy antics as well.
