About Mickey

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Adoption Fee: $100 Breed: Chihuahua Age: 1 1/2 Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped Mickey is a 1 1/2 year old Chihuahua Mix who came to Fuzzy Pawz after the staff at the Idaho Humane Society recognized that he was really scared in the shelter environment. He just needed some time to destress and someone to give him a chance to show his true personality, and boy are we glad we took a chance on him! Mickey is such a playful loving dude! Mickey has lots of puppy personality in him, so he loves to play with toys, and chew on sticks. He does a very cute excited dance when it's time to eat, too. But if you're lounging on the couch, Mickey may just hop up and start giving you kisses or ask for a belly rub. He gets along great with the other small dogs in his foster home. Since he is quite playful, he does try to play with the cats in the home, so we would say he is good with cats, but he may need to be monitored to make sure he isn't stressing them out. He's also good with kids, as long as they respect his boundaries; we do require that kids be over 10. Mickey is create trained and sleeps quietly all night there. He is mostly potty trained, but he will need some reinforcement training at his new home. We have noticed that Mickey doesn't like being touched on his neck by strangers, which could be the result of a few things in his past, but once he trusts you, he is much more polite about collars and touching. We recommend that his new home gives him time to bond with them and takes it slow if they plan to teach him to walk on a leash. He is eager to please, and loves treats so it shouldn't be a huge hurdle. Mickey is (recently) neutered, microchiped and up to date on his vaccines.
