Catahoula mix

Every day is a happy day with me, friend! Hiya, I'm Potsy and heck, it sure is nice to meet ya. My owner got too old to take care of me and my dog and cat friends and we all ended up at a rural kill shelter in the middle of nowhere. Thankfully, ADA swooped in, scooped us up, and now I'm right where I need to be to meet you, dear reader! Even after all I've been through, I am very affectionate, socialized, and generally well-adjusted. I am great with other dogs and I used to live in a house full of dogs and cats (so I'm most likely still good with cats, too). My foster believes I am also likely good with human kiddos, too, since I'm so sweet, kind, and gentle. I know basic commands like sit and lie down and I am making great progress with house training (though I will probably need a refresher course when you bring me home- remember, I just came out of a situation where I wasn't being walked regularly so I'll need your help and patience). I am crate-trained and leash-trained, so we won't have to worry about either of those things and we can skip straight to couch snoozles and binging on milkbones. Even though I have a fairly average energy level, I can make you smile with my wiggle butt and I am very eager to go for walkies. I know things have been hard for me recently, but I'm sure with some love, patience, butt scratches, and walkies, I'll be just the dog you are looking for! If you want to see my awesome speckled ears in person, come visit me at the Waynesboro Petsmart on Saturdays between 10 AM and 2 PM! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. For more information and to apply to adopt, please visit www.augustadogadoptions.org If you google our address, you will be directed to Richmond. That is NOT our adoption event location. If you have questions, please message us on Facebook.
