Hello there! My name is Ruthie, and I am a sweet, loving, quiet, highly intelligent 32-pound black and tan German Shepherd/ Australian Shepherd mix gal who was born about August 2015. I have the coat coloring and texture of a German Shepherd but the medium size of an Australian Shepherd or even a Border Collie. Going on long walks is my favorite part of the day, and I get so excited when I see the leash appear because I know what's in store! I walk on a leash well and am well-mannered around other dogs and children. There is not a drop of aggression in me -- no sirree! My second favorite activity is riding in the car. I look all around a little, and then when I've seen enough, I settle down for a nap. I'm highly intelligent, listen well, and look for cues from my human to see what I'm supposed to do. Temperament-wise, I'm initially on the quiet, timid, cautious side when I'm first introduced to new people and strange surroundings. I was found as a stray in Kingwood, so for Pete's sake, what do you expect from a girl who's been wandering the streets? But once someone's built trust with me, I'm a sweetheart and become all their's! On my third day after being rescued, my friendly, playful personality started shining through. Suddenly, I started to 'own' the back yard as if it were just 'mine.' By the way, I got a little huffy when I smelled that a cat had 'intruded' into 'my' yard! If you're looking for a sweet, playful, loyal companion who's easily trainable and doesn't bark, then I'm your gal! My rescuer says that the someone who adopts me will be very lucky. How can you not be when I have so many fine canine qualities? So, arrange to meet me today. Let's write a new chapter in our lives together. Ruthie is updated on shots, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She will be available for adoption after she recovers from her spay surgery September 14. Her adoption fee is $150, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Ruthie, and we can arrange for you to meet her.
