About Terrific Tucker

Adoption Fee: $*8.00
Boxer / Catahoula
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Tucker - this boy is fantastic! Tucker a 1 year old 45-50 lb. Boxer/Catahoula mix, was picked up from the side of the road, likely having been dumped as searches for his owner went unanswered. He was skinny and sad, but oh-so-happy to have someone stop to help him. This is a dog who knows what it's like to not be loved, so he truly appreciates all the love and attention he can get! He would love to spend his time at your side, whatever it is you're doing. He will lick you, and he will jump up on you. I've been working on both of those issues, but you can see in his eyes he's just so happy to have someone love him, it's hard to not laugh about it! He is a bundle of energy, and will need to be with an active person / family. He won't do well alone, there seems to be some understandable separation anxiety when he is by himself. He'll need someone who either has another dog to keep him company, or someone who will spend most of their time with him. I think Tucker would make a great hiking partner or agility dog. He does well with kids, but I would not recommend toddlers or infants as his energy level may be too much for them. He will also need a secure fence, preferably with room to run. He's been at my house with my two dogs, three cats, and my horse outside and has done well with all of them. He will try to play with cats but has never been mean or tried to bite them. My cats are used to big dogs so they know how to handle a playful dog. I would say that whether or not he will do well with cats depends more on the cat than on Tucker. I had to work to get him into a crate the first night he was with me, but the very next day he went right in on his own. He had one accident in the house when I let him sleep with me and didn't pay attention to his signal that he needed to go out, so it was my fault. Besides that, not a single house-training incident. So smart and easily trainable! He'll sleep in a crate or sleep with you, but would much rather sleep with you! If you're looking for a dog who will appreciate your love and attention, look no further! He gets along good with other dogs, kids and cats is neutered, Heart worm negativeand potty trained if you watch when he tells you he needs to go out. His adoption fee is $95.00. Needs a fenced yard
