About Doris

Adoption Fee: $275
Boxer / Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Doris and her remarkable ears!! This adorable, sweet and very unique looking pooch was rescued from an overburdened pound in rural KY. She was a stray so we aren't quite sure what her breed heritage is, but she appears to be a Boxer/Cattle dog mix. She has the Cattle Dog build (and ears!) and is short and stocky, weighing in around 50 pounds. We estimate her to be between 5-6 years old. Doris can be a little timid in new situations and with new people but she warms up very quickly, within a few minutes and with just a few encouraging words and noggin pats. Once she is comfortable, she is an extremely affectionate, attentive and loving girl. She seems to have inherited the Boxer's clown-like disposition and loves to bound around and play. She will do anything for a laugh! While she does love to play, Doris is not as high energy as the average Boxer or Cattle dog and would do fine with a moderate amount of exercise. She also came to us with a large scar on her back hip and it appears that she may have been hit by a car or suffered another type of accident in the distant past. She has a bit of a funny gait, and probably always will, but it doesn't hinder her mobility at all! Doris is very quiet and well behaved in the home and gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. While it doesn't appear that she's had any formal training or knows any formal commands she's proving herself to be a quick study and is picking up on the routine in her foster home very quickly. She's intelligent and eager to please so further training should be a breeze. She is crate trained and also appears to be housetrained. Doris' adoption fee to the rescue is $275. This helps to cover some of the medical expenses incurred to prepare her for adoption. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date with vaccines. If seriously interested in possibly adopting this lovely lady, please email [email protected]. She is in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment once an application has been received. %BD'Doris' adoption donation is $275.
