About Jackson

Adoption Fee: $300
Australian Cattle Dog / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Jackson is just too handsome not to be spoiled in a loving forever home. He is a 50 lb Australian cattle dog mixed with a breed that gave him a wider snout and a big, fluffy, curly tail (your guess is as good as ours)! In March of this year his owners surrendered him to a shelter because they were moving. Jackson then waited in the shelter until August, when we took him into a foster home under our rescue. He's currently being fostered in St. Pete, FL (Pinellas County). We are looking to find him a family that will consider him family and will never abandon him to an uncertain fate. Estimated to be in the range of 3-5 years old, Jackson is housetrained, great in the crate, great on leash and has a lower end of normal amount of energy. He seems to do fine with other dogs and is friendly to all people. Getting petted is his favorite; he'll even sit nicely for it. He gets excited to play fetch, though he looks like a total goofball trying to catch the ball mid-air, which is quite amusing. He is very interested in cats, and with some work could coexist with them, but will need supervision. He gets along great with other dogs. If you are looking for a companion dog to hang out with you and take some strolls outside with you, Jackson is your guy. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm-free.
